The Beginning..

The story of Gemzeit does not begin with watches, but with a passion for engineering and precision mechanics.
Since his youth in Brazil, the fascination with dismantling, understanding, and optimizing complex mechanical gears was born in the family garage.
Under the mentorship and rigor of his father, who was an engineer and owner of an architecture firm, the founder, Francis Machado, was introduced to the technical world.
Although his father's primary business was different, the deep mechanical knowledge he possessed was passed down through practical experience. There, among tools and personal projects, Francis learned the importance of millimetric tolerance, technical rigor, and respect for the flawless operation of a machine.
The International Journey and Mastery of Detail:
In 2019, driven by a desire for evolution and without any local support network, Francis emigrated to Portugal. During his years of continuous dedication on Portuguese soil, his perspective on precision expanded. The sharp eye developed in high-performance automotive mechanics refined itself to find a parallel in micromechanics and high horology: the same level of requirement, the same search for originality, and the same appreciation for timeless calibers.
The Foundation of Gemzeit in Germany:
In 2023, following his marriage, a strategic relocation to Baden-Württemberg, Germany, was realized—a region historically recognized globally as the heart of engineering, precision, and industrial rigor. It was within this environment of technical excellence that his natural path culminated in the creation of Gemzeit.
Founded with the clear objective of serving discerning collectors in Europe and across the globe, Gemzeit applies a rigorous standard of curadoria and technical verification to every vintage timepiece and luxury item that enters its portfolio. Each piece is meticulously inspected to guarantee authenticity and the preservation of its mechanical history.
